The writers, producers, directors, and of course, the actors from the popular FX show “Sons of Anarchy” hit the red carpet at the Arclight Theater on Monday for the show’s season three premiere. “Sons of Anarchy” is one of FX’s most successful programs and has earned substantial critical acclaim.

Monday, Aug. 30, marked the official beginning of the 42nd annual US Open. The tournament kicked off with a special opening night ceremony at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

The scene to be seen was at the Entertainment Tonight Emmy Party last night. Dubbed by the entertainment industry as one of Hollywood’s most anticipated Emmy after parties, the bash of the year took place at the iconic Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles with legendary multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Cyndi Lauper rocking out on the ET party stage. The affair also featured music spun by celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson.

On Aug. 16, more than 300 guests gathered at the St. Regis Hotel Ballroom for the 2010 Symphonix Opening Night Gala Launch Party. The event was actually a pre-gala, held in anticipation of the upcoming Symphonix Gala, which will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, and kick off the San Francisco Symphony’s 99th season.

Following the 2010 Emmy Awards, HBO held an invite-only party at The Plaza at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. HBO had plenty to celebrate, especially after they ended the evening earning eight Emmys, the most out of any of the networks.

On Friday, Aug. 27, Entertainment Weekly held its annual pre-Emmy party at the Restaurant at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood. Sponsored by L’Oreal and in conjunction with Women in Film’s TV and Media Committee, EW honored the female Emmy nominees while paying tribute to all the talented women in the television industry.

On Tuesday night, Barry Gesser, Sarah Collins and I threw a small clambake at their house. It was a good old Hamptons barbecue in the middle of Los Angeles. Haute Living’s publisher Seth Semilof joined us there along with Lizzie Grubman, Jordan Bucky, Sabrina Levine, James Goldstein, Ally Bernstein, Alexanrdra von Furstenburg, Dax Miller and Jane and Jon Mass.

This year’s annual Opera Ball 2010 is scheduled for Sept. 10, and will mark the official opening of San Francisco Opera’s 88th season. In anticipation of the opening, this past Monday, the San Fran Opera Guild hosted an Opera Ball “pre-gala” at the new headquarters of Obscura Digital.

In order to help its neighbors feel welcome, Lincoln Center, IMG, the Council of Fashion Designers of American (CFDA), and New York City’s Housing Authority (NYCHA) hosted a panel discussion yesterday, entitled, “A Life in Fashion,” at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. More than 150 local teenagers attended the presentation, most of whom were from Amsterdam Houses, the 10-acre public-housing complex just west of Lincoln Center.
