Rebecca moved to the United Arab Emirates from Paris to work for an art gallery at the Emirates Palace hotel. Her dream was to take part in the tremendous development of the arts in the United Arab Emirates as well as explore the burgeoning world of fashion and luxury goods in the region. In Dubai Rebecca specializes in the Arab art scene as well as regularly attends the region's foremost fashion and luxury events. She also has a knack for discovering the finest dining experience's Dubai and Abu Dhabi have to offer. In her spare time, Rebecca attends Yoga and dance classes in Dubai Marina and enjoys curling up with her favorite book and a scented Diptyque candle.

The tenth edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) began with a bang on 6 December at the Madinat Jumeirah with a Red Carpet Opening Gala screening of Hany Abu-Assad’s Omar, the Palestinian entry for the Foreign Language Oscar. Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe winning Palestinian director Hany Abu Assad led the line- up of stars gracing the red carpet as he attended alongside the films cast members Adam Bakri, Eyad Hourani and Waleed Zuaiter.

Roger Vivier Collaborates with Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor

The Virgule, Roger Vivier’s famous pump with a comma shaped heel, has made a comeback in the designer’s latest collections. The campaign of the new Virgule, a heel he created in 1963, features 21 year-old model and daughter of Duran Duran’s John Taylor, Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor. The model and DJ is seen wearing the sleek pump into the early hours of the morning while dressed in jeans, a mini-skirt, a leather jacket and leopard skin pants. The heels are found in a variety of colors and textures including houndstooth, flamboyant red, metallic, satin or even mink.

Prada Opens its First Store in Kazakhstan

On 5 December, Prada opened its first store in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Located in Esentai, the city’s high-end shopping mall, the store was designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi and occupies a total area of approximately 740 square meters on one level. Presented are women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear collections.
