Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s Century 21 Shopping Trip
The former Sopranos siren has been spotted at all the hottest venues recently, including Century 21. Not only did photogs snap some great shots of her, but she also tweeted about her retail therapy outing, saying, “Shopped @century21 today for a little downtown. Was packed like xmas!”
Q&A with Evelyn Lozada of VH1’s “Basketball Wives”
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be married to an NBA star, VH1 swooped in and saved the day so that you would have to wonder no more. The series, Basketball Wives, began airing back in April, and while many big names make appearances throughout the season, we’re here to talk about Evelyn Lozada. Not only is she one of the stars of this breakout reality television hit, but she is also the owner of Dulce, a fab shoe boutique in Coral Gables. I was able to catch up with Evelyn recently for a quick Q&A about her show and her shoes.
Kosher is Cool at Prime KO
A Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant that even the most stringent Kosher-keeper can enjoy? But of course. After all, this is New York, the city that is known to satisfy any whim imaginable. So why not sushi and steak that is not off limits based on religious considerations? Prime KO opened last week to the delight of foodies everywhere. What makes this Japanese sushi and steakhouse different from all the others? The fact that it is making Kosher cool.

There was a lot going on last Thursday night in NYC. I had several galas and fetes on my list of places to be, one of which was NYDG Foundation: Rx Haiti. This was a very important event, hosted by some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Mick Jagger, L’Wren Scott, Rachel Weisz, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michelle Williams, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Helmut Lang, John Currin, Rachel Feinstein, Naomi Watts, Zac Posen, Christopher Niquet, Ranjana Khan, Edie Falco, Margery & Ted Mayer, EJ Camp, and David Colbert MD.
Get Your Tickets for Junior Committee’s Collective Consciousness Gala Tomorrow Night
I’m warning you now to take it easy this Cinco de Mayo so you can get plenty of beauty sleep in preparation for tomorrow night’s Collective Consciousness gala, hosted by the Junior Committee of the Alzheimer’s Association for the New York City Chapter. You will find me there, at the Hudson Terrace on West 46th Street, from 8 to 11 p.m. Can’t reveal what I’ll be wearing yet, but it will be something spectacular, while perfectly suited for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music from DJ Chachi.
The Ladies Who Lunch Come Out for the Women of Distinction Luncheon at the Waldorf Astoria
Tis the season for charity luncheons, so yesterday I was off to the Waldorf Astoria for the 17th annual Women of Distinction Luncheon for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, where Ellen Crown was honored as the Woman of Distinction. This luncheon raises more money than any other of its kind in New York City, in part because of the efforts of chairs Elyse Newhouse, Carolyn Rowan, Michelle Swarzman, and Michele Sweetwood. Inside NYU Langone Medical Center’s 2010 Violet Ball
I was overwhelmed by the magnitude of it all when I first approached Cipriani Wall Street on Monday night for NYU Langone Medical Center’s annual Violet Ball. Helen L. Kimmel, a longtime friend, board trustee and supporter of NYU Langone, was the guest of honor. With more than 850 guests in the ballroom, white orchids everywhere, and Frank Sinatra penetrating throughout the room, the evening was just so uplifting; I spent most of my evening surrounded by some of the most prestigious medical geniuses.
Below the Surface
Tomorrow, one of the most important exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC will open to the public. I cannot help but describe Picasso in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, a landmark exhibition of 300 works by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881–1973), as one of the most special exhibitions in the history of the storied museum,
A Moving Evening with Culinary’s VIPs
Some of the biggest stars in the culinary world showed up last night for one of the biggest fundraising events to fight hunger of the year, and as the New York Society Editor for Haute Living, I was fortunate to secure an RSVP to the magnificent fete.
