As a part of Russia-Italy cross-cultural year, the Italian Ambassador in Russian capital, Antonio Zanardi Landi, hosted the VIP dinner to mark Dolce & Gabbana and Bacardi’s vermouth brand Martini collaboration. Guests of honour at the private dinner at the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Moscow included Italian actress Monica Bellucci, superb Italian designers Dominico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, joint by rapper Pharell Williams.

Uber-chic high street brand Mango threw a fantastic show last night in Moscow’s art centre Vetoshniy. It also provided us with celebrity-packed front row. But the main star of the night was Olivia Palermo. As representative and model for the brand, Olivia specially flew to Moscow to represent new Spring/Summer collection; she was accompanied by her handsome boyfriend Johannes Huebl (unsurprisingly also Mango ambassador). The 24-year-old American socialite found fame in reality television show “The City” and is renowned for her flawlessly chic appearance.

The 7th Fashion and Style in Photography festival commenced in Russian capital. The Multimedia Art Museum (former Moscow House of Photography) is once again bringing several displays to Moscow showcasing works by iconic photo artists. After six years of its successful work in the capital, Fashion and Style in Photography has become one of the main highlight in Moscow’s cultural life.

This is the 7th time the Multimedia Art Museum brings a number of thematic displays that show style and fashion in faces – legendary photographers, rock stars, fashion designers, movie stars, artists and other famous people. The aim of the project is to present the finest photographic works from famous fashion photographers to the dedicated fashion following of Moscow.

An Exhibition Cuba in Revolution unveiled yesterday at Garage Center for Contemporary Culture. The art venue was opened in 2008 by socialite and billionaire Roman Abramovich’s girlfriend – Dasha Zhukova. Dasha’s new exposition features over 250 original photographs that explore the visual legacy of the Cuban Revolution of 1959. It includes works from over thirty photographers from Cuba, the United States and the USSR, and gives a unique insight into one of the most spectacular political events of the twentieth century.

Must-see exhibition The Collective Unconscious: Graphic Works of Surrealism from de Chirico to Magritte was unveiled on Tuesday in State History Museum. It is organized by InArtis Project. Visitors will have a chance to revel in their favourite surrealist paintings and graphics till 25 April.

Despite the global economic instability, Russian oligarchs are back! Moscow has reclaimed its crown as tycoon central after Forbes announced in its annual list of the world’s richest people that Russian capital has more billionaires than any other city. According to Forbes, the number of billionaires in Russia, most of whom built their empires during the country’s anarchic 1990s, grew to 101 from 62 last year; and 79 of them are officially resident in Moscow. Russia’s capital has knocked New York off the pedestal it took in 2009.

Burnt by the Sumptuousness exhibition will be showcased in Moscow till March 13 in Lumiere Brothers Art-centre. The project exhibits twenty photographic canvases and four video installations; all captures by famous Russian fashion photographer Danila Golovkin.
In two dozen of photographs, Danil Golovkin creates his own grotesque world, playing with Dolce Vita symbols and clichés. Dynamic in composition and color, the photographs are very stylish, although provocative till some extend.
