Many have been anxiously waiting for the Joie boutique to open on Melrose. Well, it’s officially the Joie boutique that carries some of the most gorgeous and sleek women’s clothing is now open.

Over this year, art sales have set records among three of the major auction houses: Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips de Pury’s, despite the international recession. This has been one of the biggest years in art sales compared to prior auctions. In November alone, Christie’s made nearly half a billion dollars off of contemporary art.

With the holiday shopping season in full swing, it’s only right to announce that J.Crew has opened its first Southern California stand-alone store for men at the Grove. The men’s store opened for the very first time just the day before Thanksgiving.

After Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro opened its doors three years ago, back in 2009 Chef de cuisine Rory Herrmann has always presided over Bouchon’s menu, which for the most part is French inspired. However, over the years the menu has changed, along with the seasons, leading to a more veggie conscious menu with a variety of veggies and salads. It wasn’t until early October, when Hermann left Bouchon Bistro to explore other opportunities that there was hope for a new menu.

This past week, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and wife Adrienne have listed their Newport Beach home for $1.895 million. Back in 2006, the two purchased the Balboa Peninsula two-story cottage for $1.699, according to public records.

Just in time for the holidays, Swarovski Crystallized concept store in New York will be showcasing a spectacular holiday window display filled with five of the most dazzling unseen sculptures by Cimon. This New York-based artist is infamous for his collection of fantastic and innovative LEGO sculptures. The five sculptures that will be on display in the window of Swarovski Crystallized Broadway store were created with over 1,000 Swarovski Elements and hand crafted by Cimon.

As part of a $1.5 billion development deal, Westfield have joined forces with Los Angeles World Airports and Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa to renovate Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX. This new revamped TBIT will involve the addition of 50 dining and luxury retail shops, which include luxury boutiques like Burberry, Hermes, Gucci, Balenciaga, Kitson, Chloe and Fred Segal. Also, duty-free shopping which will provide several beauty brands such as Smashbox, Bobby Brown, La Mer and MAC, not to mention an exclusive personalized shopping and concierge service courtesy of DFS Platinum Service for international travelers.
