Next month, kids are getting ready to enjoy a day full of fun and entertainment for a very good cause, to support Safety Harbor Kids in Malibu. On June 9, kids will gather for a day of polo at the Sixth Annual Safety Harbor Kids Polo Fundraiser. This exciting event will take place in Pacific Palisades at the Will Rogers Polo Fields, the same property where Will Rogers himself purchased more than 100 acres and built the polo fields, all in the 1940s.

In celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, De Beers has created a wonderfully elegant crown set that features nearly 974 diamonds, 177 rough stones and 797 polished, a 73 carat center stone uncut diamond, amongst amber, brown and yellow diamonds in several sizes. An additional two uncut diamonds that are approximately 28 and 26 carats located on the lower band.

Tomorrow on May 29, the newly finished Dixie will be opening its door for nearly 300 people. The former Press A Vi spot, is now a more spacious spot with Southern hospitality written all over it, from the art on the walls created with Southern birch trees, old rocking chairs, and musical instruments. The Dixie now features warm sconces, glowing lighting fixtures, along with banquettes, all designed by Michael Brennan.

Several Asian celebrities came out to celebrate the opening of Van Cleef & Arpels’ “Timeless Beauty” exhibit at Shangai’s Museum of Contemporary Art. The event started off with a breathtaking ribbon-cutting ceremony that was orchestrated by Van Cleef & Arpels President and CEO Stanislas de Quercize, along with Jean-Pierre, former French Prime Minister and Vice-President of the French Senate. Also, guests who witnessed the ceremony included Fan Bingbing and screen legend Gong Li.

“The Normal Heart,” Larry Kramer’s play directed by five-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe will officially open the American Conservatory Theater’s 2012-2013 season from Sept. 13-Oct.7.
