Rolls-Royce Motor Cars arrived in Los Angeles last week to present Rolls-Royce for the Variety Studio, the latest awards-season installment of Variety.com’s annual video series from the Sundance, Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals. VIP guests had the opportunity to view and be chauffeured in a selection of bespoke cars from the luxury car company over the two-day event, which took place on November 20th and 21st at the Leica Gallery in Beverly Hills.

Jim Gianopulos was on hand to celebrate the debut of a new structure on the Fox lot dedicated to the late television and film composer Lionel Newman. The 20th Century Fox Film CEO-chairman made a few opening remarks at Thursday’s ceremony, referring to the Newman family as the “Kennedys of songwriting.”

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood turned out to premiere their new films at the Audi-presented AFI Fest. George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Zoe Saldana, Emma Thompson, Kristen Wiig, Jason Schwartzman and Adam Scott were among the A-list names who attended the week-long festivities.

The Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai threw one haute event on Tuesday with its annual winter gala. Will Arnett hosted the fete, which took place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Dreamworks SKG founders Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg have both made sizable donations to the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Because of the combined $20 million donation, the two main galleries on the lobby floor of the new museum will be named after the honcho’s families: The Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg Gallery and The Spielberg Family Gallery.
