At the recent Web 2.0 summit Google CEO Eric Schmidt gave a preview of what the new Android Gingerbread phone will be able do. The next generation of Android will come equipped with a Near Field Communication (NFC) chip that will allow your phone to act like a wallet.

Haute 100 Los Angeles Update: Donald Bren

Especially around this time of year, we are reminded that giving feels good, but getting something back is nice too. Veteran philanthropist Donald Bren was honored with the 25th Anniversary Legacy of Giving Award last week during a National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon in Orange County.

Haute Events: Home of the Avenues Featuring Fendi Casa and Kenzo Maison

On Tuesday, Nov. 9, more than 200 guests showed up to the glamorous Home of the Avenues, the glamorous six-bedroom, 12,000-square-foot mansion in Bel Air Estates that is fascinatingly staged as a design showroom. Guests were also treated to a colorful buffet presentation from Executive Chefs James Overbaugh and Executive Sous Chef Anthony Raymond from The Peninsula Beverly Hills, while sipping specialty Bacardi Elite cocktails.

Haute Event: Express Rock the Sidewalk Fashion Show

Hundreds flooded the streets of Miami Beach this past Friday night for the Express Rock the Sidewalk fashion show. The fashion show, which showcased styles from the Express 2011 Spring collection, was held on Collins and 17th as an event to celebrate the opening of the its newest store on Lincoln Road. Cheered on by thunderous claps and flashing photographs, the models walked down the runways. VIP guests to the afterparty included star Jessica Loundes, from 90210, as well asshow stylist Samira Nasr, fashion photographer Greg Kadel, as well as Lais Ribeiro, Erin Heatherton, and other models.
