Haute Dining: Yamashiro, From Los Angeles to Japan
I’ll admit, its not often that a restaurant makes me feel like a bona fide Japanese diplomat, but from Yamashiro’s sweeping views of Los Angeles to the perfectly cooked surf and turf, that mission is accomplished. Perched at a height in the Hollywood hills usually reserved for Lindsay Lohan and her cronies or those brave enough to traverse Runyon Canyon on foot, Yamashiro offers a view that miraculously pierces thick smog even on the haziest of nights. The property is expansive, but one can only wander the zen garden for a limited time before the hostess summons you via remote buzzer to let you know it is time for a “Russian Mule” or “Norm’s Mai-Tai.”
Orange County Native Designs the Hautest Luxury Spa Accessory
The Wrapadoo was developed in Orange County just a few years ago when Corona del Mar “Mompreneur” Cynthia Saito launched her Wrapadoo “Luxury Collection” in Fall 2009. But she never dreamed that her handiwork would land in one of the most prestigious spas in the nation–Canyon Ranch Spa. Soon, orders followed for acclaimed Salish Lodge & Spa in Seattle and Ceron Salon/Neiman-Marcus in Dallas.
Where to Buy Valentine’s Day Chocolates in Los Angeles

John Barrett Salon in New York City: Style in the Sky
As I step off the elevator of the 9th floor at Bergdorf Goodman at the John Barrett Salon. The views are staggering, stretched out before me is the park, in all of its splendor, the colors of the season lend a calm. I am met with smiles as I approach Parvin, whom has made me a true “Bergdorf Blonde” since 1999, and we exchange the stories of the day. People come to say hello, exchanging kisses, the arduous task of going to the salon melts away, as an espresso is brought to me and we chat as old girlfriends. Parvin’s following is epic, a true Royal to her trade, her clients travel far and wide for her magic touch of color. Whilst Iʼm awaiting my perfect shade of blonde to form, I relax, whilst Joan, Essie, Luda or Lyudmila, shape my manicures and pedicures to perfection; Mauricio is a true genius as he shapes my brows, to the point of nobility, and if there is a party on the horizon for the evening, he delicately applies Le Metitier de Beaute, in soft and sexy hues.
Riff Raff: Manhattan’s Newest Hot Spot
The “riffraff” of New York have a new place to call their own, a jewel-box of a club off of Park and 26th. Rarely is a space this aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Tapestries from Malaysia span wall to ceiling, small touches of elegance are abound, making this not your ordinary boite de nuit
BVLGARI’s Beverly Hills Oasis
On the busy intersection of Wilshire and Rodeo amidst the mix of celebrities, tourists and cars that bustle by is Bvlgari. The constant flow of pedestrians and gridlocked automotives seem to have polished an architectural diamond in the rough into a multi-dimensional gem in the form of Bvlgari’s sparkling store. When we were given the opportunity to get a tour of this Beverly Hills cultural landmark, ‘extravagance’ was the word of the day.
