Yasmin Sinai Exhibit: Gordafarid; Woman as Warrior
Artist Yasmin Sinai’s The Act of Gordafarid, the Female Warrior revolves around Gordafarid, the only female warrior in the Book of the Kings, written by Persian poet Ferdowsi. Gordafarid represents a 21st century woman warrior, playing many roles: mother, partner, and warrior. In this show on exhibit at The Courtyard Gallery, Sinai mixes her dramatic art of sculpture-making using paper and cardboard to create immersive installations. Sinai presents the mythical story of this ancient legend in a modern-day context.
