A Luxurious Vacation at Villa Soleil
Montage Laguna Beach has big plans for the summer, which means something ultra luxurious for its guests. The introduction of Villa Soleil had us pulling out our planners and scheduling our summer vacay at the luxury resort. Now through the summer months, guests can book a luxurious beach side retreat for an unforgettable vacation sure to warm up every nook and cranky of your being.
Friday Night in the Magic City
If you didn’t make our latest Haute 100 list in the most recent edition of Haute Living Miami, and thereby didn’t receive an exclusive invitation to our VIP fete for tomorrow night, celebrating the Magic City’s most influential entrepreneurs, thinkers, entertainers, originators, philanthropists, power couples, and, of course, billionaires, don’t fret. This is still the Magic City, meaning that there are a myriad of upscale events taking place on Friday night for which you may still have time to send in your RSVP.
Most Exquisite Indoor Swimming Pools
In anticipation of the upcoming summer, we thought we’d share a few of the world’s most luxurious private indoor swimming pools. We haven’t seen anything so lavish since Mr. Warbucks first dipped his toes in his 1930s indoor pool in the musical Annie. Here are some modern day versions in no particular order.
Clinton at LIV Nightclub for Fundraiser
President Barack Obama isn’t the only political figure to raise awareness, and funds, in Miami this week. The day following Obama’s fundraiser with Gloria Estefan Thursday night, former President Bill Clinton will be joining our southern shores as well, at Miami’s own LIV nightclub. But Clinton won’t be here to just party, he’ll be joining Pharrell Williams and the band N.E.R.D on April 16 to raise money for the William J. Clinton Foundation
Fashionable Philanthropy at Brickell Salon
There are few things more satisfying in life than giving of yourself for a worthy cause. OK, well there are many things that come close, but when you can pair up fundraising with fancy cocktail parties, it seems like a win-win for all involved. Raquel Watters of RikRak Salon thought so too and is doing her part to make a difference in the local community. On April 20, from 7 to 10 p.m. RikRak Salon will host fashionable philanthropists for an in-salon cocktail soiree.
The 2010 Museum Dance
Our New York Society Editor Rachel Heller just reported in with an event that she will be attending tomorrow night along with many other upscale New Yorkers who define what it means to be haute. What better way to celebrate tax day than with a swanky soiree at the American Museum of Natural History for the 2010 Museum Dance? And when the leadership chairs of an event include last names like Kushner, Mortimer, Fanjul Pfeifler, and Wohl, and the sponsor is luxury label Lilly Pulitzer, we are expecting an over-the-top fete deserving of a myriad of media mentions.
Anderer’s New Menus at Ian Scharger’s Gramercy Park Hotel Venues
Considering that Ian Schrager was our cover subject for the February/March edition of Haute Living New York, it should come as no surprise that we are big fans of his projects, so when we get word that new ventures, big or small, are on the horizon for the Godfather of Nightlife, we can’t wait to spread the word. Such is the case with today’s news that Maialino Executive Chef Nick Anderer has revamped the menus for Rose Bar, Jade Bar, and in-room dining at Schrager’s Gramercy Park Hotel.
MTV CEO Bill Roedy Buys Modern-Day Miami Castle
So just who is the man behind the music…television that is? His name is William H. “Bill” Roedy, and as chairman and CEO of MTV Networks International, he’s one man who can afford to live just about anywhere. So it’s pretty understandable that a modern-day castle–complete with gargoyles, watch towers, and a moat—was the property that caught his eye. Living like a real-life king is everyone’s dream, and Bill Roedy paid $4.42 million dollars to turn that dream into a Miami reality.
How To Celebrate Tax Day in Miami
Didn’t get that exclusive invite to President Barack Obama’s ultra fancy VIP fundraiser at Emilio and Gloria Estefan’s manse on Thursday night? (We’re sure it was a simple mistake on the postmaster’s part.) And you can’t make it to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts to sing “Hail to the Chief” either? No worries. We’ve got plenty of other splendid ways for you to celebrate tax day.
