Save the Date: Star-studded lineup at inaugural food fest

The venue may be the Islands, but the inaugural Hawaii Food & Wine Festival won’t just focus on local flavors and cuisine. This three-day event, which runs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, will have an international feel, boasting a lineup of celebrity chefs from around the world, from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia and Canada.

Launched last year, Hawaii-based ACACIA Swimwear is a collection of swimsuits that fuses the perfect low-cut Italian bikinis with that flirty Brazilian fit. It first appeared nationally in the 2011 swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and now it’s debuting at Salon Allure during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami in July.

Restaurants in Maui: Ferraro’s unveils new menu

As if rack of lamb in mint oil and braised veal shank with a saffron risotto weren’t enough. Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante, the signature fine-dining Italian restaurant at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, recently introduced a new menu that takes advantage of Hawaii’s fresh seafood and local ingredients.
