Haute Style: Hawaii’s ACACIA Swimwear debuts in Miami
There’s no better place for swimsuit inspiration than Hawaii.
So it’s no surprise friends Naomi Newirth — born on Maui and practically raised in a bikini — and Lyndie Irons — a Southern California girl and swimsuit model, married to the late pro surfer Andy Irons from Kauai — would create a swimsuit lined inspired by the Islands they love.
Launched last year, ACACIA Swimwear is a collection of swimsuits that fuses the perfect low-cut Italian bikinis with that flirty Brazilian fit. It first appeared nationally in the 2011 swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and now it’s debuting at Salon Allure during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami in July.
The four-day trade show, held at the posh W Hotel South Beach, will showcase some of the world’s leading designers including Diesel, Red Carter, Tori Praver and Ivana Sert. This is the first and only trade show to feature fabric, swimwear and resort wear all under one roof during Miami’s famed Swim Week, the broadest gathering of swimwear designers in the United States.
And if that weren’t enough, ACACIA Swimwear joined REVOLVEclothing, an online shop of more than 400 designer brands boasting an electic mix of lifestyle goods.
Not bad for two girlfriends who love the beach!
