Haute Event: Solving Kids’ Cancer Hosts Spring Celebration Event
Last week at 583 Park Avenue’s ballroom in New York City, Solving Kids’ Cancer hosted its second annual Spring Celebration Event, which consisted of a cocktail, a stupendous buffet, and both live and silent auctions— all generously co-sponsored by Credit Suisse and Paul Hastings. This season, the event raised over $400,000 for the charity.

Last week, at the lavish Pierre Hotel on Fifth Avenue, just off Manhattan’s Grand Army Plaza, a bevy of well-heeled patrons of the Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals gathered for the 2011 Breast Service Luncheon. This year’s elegant charity engagement funded over $700,000 for Breast Cancer advocacy and research at Beth Israel’s Appel-Venet Comprehensive Breast Center and the Comprehensive Breast Center at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals.

Since graduating fromLondon’s famed Central St. Martins in 2001, Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskov has produced 19 men’s wear collections (including 16 women’s collections with the help of fellow St. Martins graduate Maja Brix). Currently, he is the only Scandinavian designer to present at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. Now the gifted newcomer is bringing his eclectic luxurious creations to New York’s chic SoHo neighborhood, with a new namesake boutique at 456 Broome St., which opened to much fanfare on April 15.

Last night, the Meatpacking’s Milk Gallery hosted a private opening reception for famed photographer Steven Sebring’s latest exhibition named: Illumination, Who Are Poets. The show presents a series of massive pictures of cotemporary poets that have been distorted into images of enlarged, blurry pixels. Most of the sizeable works are mounted on brace Sintra material and complimented by an assortment of smaller, related prints. Also on hand, are displays of poet and artist memorabilia throughout the gallery space.
Jeffrey Fashion Cares Hosts New York City Auction and Runway Show
On Monday, March 28, New York City luminaries and heavy-hitters supporting HIV/AIDS awareness gathered at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum for the annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefit. The charity event, now in its eighth year, raises funds for organizations that fight LGBT discrimination or provide life-saving services for those affected by HIV/AIDS.
