While President Obama celebrates his one year anniversary as the first elected African-American President of Unites States, Anna Wintour has something to celebrate herself.
Wintour has just been selected to be on the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, the committee which Michelle Obama is the honorary chair. The committee focuses on “arts and humanities, education, cultural diplomacy, economic revitalization through the arts, and humanities and special events dedicated to recognizing excellence in these areas.”
As an Obama supporter, Wintour is one of 26 private citizens newly appointed to the committee who were announced on Monday night. Sarah Jessica Parker, Ed Norton, Forest Whitaker, Alfre Woodard, Yo-Yo Ma, Teresa Heinz Kerry, and Kerry Washington are among the other high-profile individuals also appointed to the committee.
