Kith Just Published the Most Complete Sneaker Archive Ever Made

Kith: The Footwear Archive, published by Assouline, documents over 1,800 collaborative footwear models from Ronnie Fieg's personal archive.

Fifteen years into building one of the most influential brands in fashion and footwear, Ronnie Fieg has done something no one in his world has attempted at this scale: he opened the archive. Kith: The Footwear Archive, published by Assouline and releasing September 30th — fifteen years to the day Kith was founded — is a 444-page catalogue raisonné of over 1,800 collaborative footwear models, and it is the largest volume in Assouline’s Ultimate and Classics Collection to date.

The book is not a coffee table flex. It is a genuine document — structured in two halves, the first presenting 700 released pairs through elevated photography by longtime Kith collaborator Tyler Mansour, who shot the entire volume through a consistent visual lens, and the second indexing the full archive chronologically by brand, tracing each project from initial concept to final product. What makes the second half significant is that it includes unreleased pairs and developmental prototypes from Fieg’s personal collection that have never been shown publicly — a record of the work behind the work, visible for the first time.

“The true DNA of the brand and what I do creatively started with footwear,” says Fieg. “This book is proof that we built something that didn’t exist before.” The partnerships documented inside span Adidas, Asics, Clarks Originals, Moncler, New Balance, Nike, On, Timberland, and more — 15 years of collaborations that, together, reshaped what a brand-retailer relationship could look like and how seriously the sneaker industry could take design.

The Classic edition is available September 30th at all Kith stores worldwide, Kith.com, and the Kith App, with Assouline boutiques carrying it starting December 9th. The Ultimate Edition — limited to 300 individually numbered copies, each signed by Fieg and housed in a leather clamshell debossed with an all-over Kith monogram — also launches September 30th, exclusively at select Assouline boutiques.

Before the global launch, Kith is staging a public exhibition in Brooklyn from September 25th through 27th where every footwear model featured in the book will be on display for the first time. The Classic edition will also be available for purchase at the exhibit ahead of its official release date. The exhibition takes place at 25 Kent Avenue, 6th Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11249, open 12PM to 6PM daily.

“I think about the twenty-year book, the thirty-year book,” Fieg says. “Everything I work on now is part of that story.” It is a long-game mentality that separates Kith from brands that exist only in the present tense — and this archive is the evidence.
