For the fourth chapter of Kith and BMW’s ongoing partnership, Ronnie Fieg did not design a car. He restored two of them — and in doing so, turned a paint color into a full creative statement. In true Fieg fashion, he has once again pushed the boundaries within the art of collecting.

Released as part of Kith’s 15th anniversary, the 2026 collaboration centers on Inka Orange, the vibrant hue BMW introduced in 1971 on the 02 Series. Originally developed as a high-visibility color for inclement driving conditions, Inka Orange quickly became something far more significant — the defining shade of BMW’s formative sporting years, a color that captured the marque’s emergence as a world-class performance brand before quietly disappearing from the lineup. Among collectors, it has since reached near-mythic status.

Fieg chose the most fitting canvas imaginable: a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi, the car most inextricably linked to Inka Orange in BMW’s archive. The restoration is as thorough as it is meticulous — a complete frame-off rebuild, with the body stripped to bare metal, KTL-treated, and repainted before being reconstructed using original components sourced from BMW’s archives. The M30 Big Six engine, transmission, rear axle, suspension, and brakes are all accounted for. Inside, a custom caramel leather interior carries an embossed Kith monogram throughout, paired with fully restored instrumentation and original wood trim. It is a one-of-one.

The second car bridges generations. When production of the 3.0 CSi’s E9 chassis concluded in 1975, BMW introduced the E24 6 Series — its direct descendant. As a nod to that lineage, Fieg also restored a 1987 BMW M6 E24, applying the same Inka Orange paint and submitting it to the same rotisserie restoration process: bare metal, fully rebuilt, with its S38 inline-six engine, Getrag 5-speed manual transmission, differential, suspension, brakes, and OEM BBS Style 5 wheels all restored to original spec. The interior mirrors the 3.0 CSi — caramel leather, embossed Kith monogram, the color story carried through to every surface. Also a one-of-one.

Together, the two cars form the creative centerpiece of a larger collection of Kith for BMW apparel and accessories, all built around the Inka Orange palette. Across their four chapters, Kith and BMW have developed a collaborative color archive of their own — from the M3 E30’s Cinnabar Red to the Kith-developed Vitality Green to the elusive Techno Violet. Inka Orange is the latest entry, and the most historically resonant yet.

Kith’s reach has only expanded in the years since its founding — the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 debut made clear just how far the label has grown beyond its streetwear roots. The BMW partnership, now four chapters deep, remains one of its most creatively ambitious ongoing projects.
