Haute Event: Special Wall Street 2 Screening in the Hamptons
Greed is good. And Michael Douglas is back to prove it. After 23 years, Wall Street is making a comeback.
World-renowned director Oliver Stone set out to direct his first sequel ever with the new film Wall Street: Money Never Dies, which will be released on Sept 23. The movie will be a follow-up to the 1987 Oscar-winning film, Wall Street, which starred Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. Douglas will return as Gordon Gekko, the former Wall Street tycoon who has been recently released from jail. Sheen is said to make a brief cameo. Shia LaBeouf has signed on to play opposite Douglas, with supporting actors that include Josh Brolin, Susan Sarandon, Eli Wallach, and Frank Langella.
On Aug. 22, guests arrived at the United Artist Theaters in Southampton for a special screening of the new film. Attendees included Rudy Giuliani, Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Ed Pressman, one of the film’s producers, Howard Stern, Tory Burch, and more.
Following the screening, guests headed over to a private Hamptons residence for an elegant dinner party. As they discussed the film, party-goers sipped wine and enjoyed the music of DJ Rumor. Dinner attendees included designers Elie Tahari and Cynthia Rowley, Michael Gelman, Maria Bartiromo, and Rob Glickman.
