Burberry Takes Over Hôtel Belles Rives on the French Riviera This Summer
Burberry has always had a relationship with the water. Founder Thomas Burberry spent the first half of the 20th century designing specialist yachting apparel and tailoring for those who lived near the sea—and this summer, the house has found the perfect address to revisit that history. From now through September 30, 2026, Burberry has taken over the beach club, terraces, and interiors of Hôtel Belles Rives in Antibes, bringing its signature British charm to one of the French Riviera’s most storied properties.

The hotel itself carries considerable weight. Hôtel Belles Rives is an Art Deco gem perched above the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean at 33 Boulevard Edouard Baudoin—a property famously associated with F. Scott Fitzgerald, who lived here while writing his final novel, Tender is the Night, published in 1934. It’s worth noting that the protagonist wears a Burberry coat. Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein were regulars, too. The breezy extravagance of that era—literary, sun-drenched, and entirely unhurried—is exactly the spirit the collaboration is built around.

For the takeover, Burberry has reinterpreted its signature check in the distinctive blue of Hôtel Belles Rives, threading the pattern through the hotel’s interiors, including the original 1920s lift, the private jetty, and the doors of the beach club. The result is a seamless integration of British heritage and Riviera Art Deco that feels considered rather than imposed. On the terrace, guests can cool off with Burberry ice lollies. At The Fitzgerald Bar—named for the property’s most famous former resident—panoramic sunsets arrive with classic cocktails. Throughout the summer, a program of Burberry-branded experiences includes waterskiing, a sport said to have been born in the very bay the hotel overlooks.

The partnership also serves as a natural backdrop for the Burberry High Summer 2026 collection, which leans directly into the brand’s coastal history—check swimwear, nautical motifs, and the kind of effortless dressing that feels at home on a private jetty as much as a terrace at golden hour.

Beyond the Burberry activation, Hôtel Belles Rives holds its own. The property’s 43 recently renovated rooms and suites open onto Mediterranean views, and La Passagère—the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Aurélien Véquaud—offers a gastronomic counterpoint to long days on the water. The private beach houses a water sports club and a boat dock, and the Valmont Beauty Corner rounds out the property’s wellness offering with treatments from the Swiss skincare house.

The Burberry takeover at Hôtel Belles Rives runs through September 30, 2026. The hotel is located at 33 Boulevard Edouard Baudoin, 06160 Antibes, France.
