Spaces That Let You Melt Into the Alps: Molteni&C Private Villa
The Alpine landscape of St.Moritz has long yearned for design that resonates far beyond sight. Molteni&C’s latest private villa project has satisfied that desire. Furnishing an exclusive mountain residence with a vision that balances architectural rigor, tactile warmth, and an effortless dialogue with nature.
Designed by M2P Association in collaboration with architect Matteo Tartufoli, the villa reflects a contemporary approach to alpine living. One where interiors and exteriors blur, and design becomes an extension of the surrounding landscape. Molteni&C’s furnishings, selected for both indoor and outdoor spaces, anchor the home in the brand’s enduring philosophy of timeless design, precision, and sustainability.

Outdoors, the villa unfolds as a natural continuation of the interior experience. Every element is positioned to frame the majestic alpine views while maintaining a sense of intimacy and ease. In the lounge area, the Sway sofa and coffee tables by Yabu Pushelberg subsides the soul, their soft lines and generous proportions encouraging unhurried conversation. Nearby, Petalo armchairs designed by Creative Director Vincent Van Duysen cradle the body into stillness. Releasing the shoulders, unclenching the jaw, and softening the eyes as the surrounding mountains come quietly into focus.
With a simplicity that mirrors the ease of conviviality, the outdoor dining space features Van Duysen’s Fairmount table, paired with Boboli chairs. Bringing architectural clarity and premium materials to open-air dining, elevating mundane moments into refined experiences.

Completing the exterior composition is a thoughtful layering of pieces from Elisa Ossino’s outdoor collection, including the Pantalica coffee tables, rug, and daybed, joined by Van Duysen’s Picea side table. Together, they create a harmonious environment where elegance arises from proportion and texture rather than overt display.

Come along to the relaxation area where the St. Moritz villa reaches its most expressive moment with the high-back Petalo armchair and pouf. Here, Molteni&C demonstrates its mastery of emotional design. Furniture that doesn’t merely fill space, but shapes the space around you inviting every part of the body to dissolve into it.

Once you step inside, the atmosphere shifts to one of enveloping warmth and proportioned calm. The living room is anchored by two Paul sofas by Vincent Van Duysen, whose balanced volumes and understated presence define the space without overwhelming it. Their softness contrasts beautifully with the architectural precision of the home, creating a living area that feels both curated and livable.
These are paired with Ron Gilad’s 45° coffee tables, true design sculptures that play with geometry, transparency, and light. Their angular clarity introduces a subtle tension—an intellectual counterpoint to the room’s inviting comfort.
Throughout the villa, Molteni&C’s approach is unmistakable: a commitment to timelessness outshining trend, craftsmanship dominating excess, and coherence surpassing spectacle. Each piece contributes to a unified narrative, a home that feels as natural as the mountains that surround it, and as refined as the brand behind it.
