The Chanel Fall-Winter 2025/26 Haute Couture is an Absolute Dream
In the grand Salon d’Honneur at the Grand Palais, the Chanel Fall-Winter 2025/26 Haute Couture collection unfolded as a serene celebration of nature, simplicity, and refined elegance. Designed by the Chanel Creation Studio and set against a decor crafted by Willo Perron, the show evoked the intimate ambiance of Gabrielle Chanel’s legendary Haute Couture salons at 31, rue Cambon, where Mademoiselle herself pioneered a return to understated sophistication.

This collection is a breath of fresh air, drawing inspiration from the vast English countryside and rugged Scottish moors that once captivated Gabrielle Chanel. It reimagines winter classics through a pastoral lens, presenting suits in earthy tones of ecru, ivory, brown, green, and black. Borrowing proportions from menswear, these pieces prioritize freedom of movement, embodying Chanel’s revolutionary vision of liberating women’s bodies.
The collection’s fabrics tell a story of harmony between nature and craftsmanship. Tweed, a Chanel hallmark, is reinterpreted with innovative textures: a knitted allure transforms it into a white coatdress adorned with embroidered braids, a suit jacket resembling a cozy jumper, and mohair suits in rich autumnal shades of green and plum. Bouclé tweed mimics the soft warmth of sheepskin in a black-and-white coatdress, a skirt suit, a long gilet, and ivory short trousers, hand-painted and embroidered for added artistry. Feathers elevate tweed to faux-fur elegance in a trouser suit, a long coat, an embroidered over-cape, and a short blouson jacket, blending rustic charm with couture finesse.

Wheat ears, a cherished symbol of abundance for Gabrielle Chanel, weave their way through the collection as a poetic motif. They appear as delicate feathers in the chiffon flounces of a black-and-white strappy dress, embroidered along the neckline of the wedding dress, and as chevron-inspired patterns on a pants ensemble. Jewel-buttons, many bearing the wheat ear emblem, add a touch of opulence. Multicolored floral embroidery blooms across an embroidered pea coat and a satin crêpe pinafore dress, completing the pastoral narrative.
As the collection turns to sunlight, it captures its radiant glow with golden jewel-buttons, intricate embroidery, and ennobled gold and silver lace. A flounced dress in shimmering orange lamé radiates warmth, embodying the collection’s luminous finale. Each piece reflects Chanel’s commitment to modernity, honoring the woman who reshaped fashion by prioritizing comfort and movement.
