The Brady Hunter Foundation (BHF) is redefining what it means to be a modern non-profit. With a mission rooted in compassion and action, this philanthropic powerhouse is making a measurable difference across five core areas: animal advocacy, empowering children, wildlife conservation, food security/ homelessness, and environmental protection.

Led by founder and executive director Josh Fox, BHF operates with a simple guiding principle be a voice for the voiceless. From rescuing injured wildlife in Florida to funding anti-poaching efforts in South Africa, BHF delivers bold, tangible solutions for the world’s most urgent challenges.

Built on Love and Action

At the heart of BHF are two legacies: Brady and Hunter, the beloved dogs of founder Josh Fox. Their namesake Foundation channels that personal bond into large-scale impact. Whether it’s funding surgeries for abused animals, organizing beach and waterway cleanups, or underwriting bikes for underserved youth, BHF’s work is both deeply personal and globally strategic.

With programs in locations from New York and Florida to Rwanda, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, France, Israel, Serbia and Bogota, the foundation has had a powerful ripple effect.  Protecting wildlife, saving and caring for domestic animals, empowering children, and supporting those facing food insecurity has translated into, among other things, countless wild animals being saved,  660+ backpacks with school essentials distributed to underserved school aged children, programming in 32 schools to educate students and parents about the dangers of social media, and distributing nutritious food to 1,000+ food-insecure families at monthly food distributions.

Five Pillars of Global Impact

BHF’s operations are built on five main pillars:

Animal Advocacy

From clearing shelters to providing life-saving surgeries, BHF’s animal advocacy efforts span from coast to coast. The Foundation works hand-in-hand with cruelty prevention units, it funds emergency procedures and establishes medical funds for injured and abused animals, and it provides resources to ensure that vulnerable animals have a second chance at life. Whether it’s pulling animals from puppy mills, sponsoring critical veterinary care, or supporting rescue transportation efforts, the breadth and scope of BHF’s work ensures real, lasting impact across the country.

Empowering Children

Through educational programs, experience-based learning, and community events with organizations including Make-a-Wish Southern Florida, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and the Organization for Social Media Safety, BHF provides children with tools and opportunities that might otherwise be inaccessible. Initiatives like therapeutic pet encounters and holiday toy drives help children not only dream big, but feel seen and supported at the same time.

Wildlife Protection

BHF funds and partners with other organizations to spearhead major conservation efforts—from anti-poaching units in Africa to the sponsorship of wildlife ambulances and rehabilitation centers in South Florida. Their work protects endangered species and preserves delicate ecosystems under threat from human activity.

Homeless Aid & Food Security

BHF has distributed thousands of meals and hygiene kits to underserved communities, hosted farmers markets in food deserts, and continues to respond to the growing needs of vulnerable families and individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

Environmental Conservation

Beach cleanups, waterway restoration efforts, and climate-awareness initiatives are just some of the ways BHF fights for a cleaner, healthier planet. They mobilize volunteers to take part in hands-on efforts and elevate environmental causes through education and advocacy.

A Connected, Committed Community

Project Rhino Anti-Poaching Aircraft

With over 80 partner organizations across more than 14 countries, BHF’s collaborative approach is a key to its success. Partners range from the Humane Society of Greater Miami to global leaders in conservation like the Dian Fossey Foundation, Project Rhino and Animal Survival International.
In addition to large-scale partnerships, BHF keeps a strong local presence with a database of more than 600 volunteers engaged through regular events like “Feel to Heal” animal therapy sessions, “paw-ventures” for shelter dogs, and community clean-up days.

Support from Familiar Faces

BHF’s mission has earned support from a range of public figures who share its values. Individuals such as Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Moby, Terry Crews, Dylan Lauren, Kenny Smith, Desmond Howard, Jill Rappaport, and others have expressed support for BHF’s causes. Athletes like Pete Alonso and Anthony Rizzo have partnered with the Foundation on important charitable projects, underscoring its broad, bipartisan, and diverse support base.

BHF is also behind the educational TV series Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin, now airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ and Pluto TV. The show follows BHF’s work across the country and inspires audiences to create change in their own communities.

The Foundation has earned multiple awards for its work, including the 2025 Pegasus Wings Award, the Brian Davies Award from Network for Animals and recognition in Dan’s Power List of the East End in 2023 and 2024.

Measuring success by the tangible good done for others is what fuels the Foundation’s focus on meaningful and lasting change.

What’s Next for BHF – Signature Projects That Are Changing the Game

Among the many efforts underway, three transformative projects stand out:

  • The Underdog Sanctuary: The Brady Hunter Foundation is focused on creating a safe haven for older, special-needs, and overlooked dogs. This sanctuary will not only offer a forever home to those dogs that have historically been harder to adopt, but it will also reimagine what care looks like for dogs who often spend the longest time in shelters.
  • The Electric Carriage Initiative: The Foundation is enacting a bold plan to phase out horse-drawn carriages in major U.S. cities by introducing humane, electric alternatives. This groundbreaking innovation will address both animal welfare and urban modernization.
  • Establishing a Farm Sanctuary: The Foundation is looking to establish a farm sanctuary to house farm animals rescued from abuse and neglect and provide lifelong love and care while raising awareness about the plight of farm animals.

These flagship initiatives that The Brady Hunter Foundation has launched are game changing. The Foundation seeks to shift paradigms and leave a lasting legacy on the communities it touches. Although the Foundation has been self-funded to-date, the breadth and scope of these groundbreaking projects will require partners that are aligned with these important causes to ensure sustainability far into the future.
