Try The N°10 At Le Syndicat — Which Focuses Solely On French-Born Spirits

Le Syndicat is one of those incredible bars that simply embodies cool — a j’ ne sais quoi, if you will.

Located in Paris’ 10th arr. behind promotional posters for an understated display, it stands among the City of Light’s modern cocktail scene’s institutions alongside famous spots like Little Red Door and  Experimental Cocktail Club as pioneers of the industry, known for using predominantly traditional French spirits only.

Le Syndicat means “The Union” in French, and that fits as its aims to defend and promote the old and the new of French spirit culture: from the good old calvados up to the latest French whisky within  a code-clashing kind of space with a strong hip-hop influence, toeing the line between refinement and comfort.

It is here that we have chosen for our cocktail of the week pick, the N°10.

The N°10 is a heady mix of  Armagnac, banana water, and a mild French chili liqueur, served in a coupette, which makes it both heady and spicy. It is most definitely a crowd pleaser.

We would be remiss not to mention what appeared to be the most ordered drink — mainly, because it speaks to many. That would be the Bad Bitch, a highball-served confection of cognac, raspberry water,  homemade citrus cordial, and Cumin Eau-de-Vie.

But please trust me when I say this: no matter what you order at this French favorite, it’s going to be excellent… and you’re going to have an even better time.
