Sex And The City’s Candice Bushnell Celebrates Her Birthday At NYC’s Newest Lounge, The Shanghai
Internationally recognized and world-renowned Aqua Restaurant Group, known for its collection of award-winning dining concepts in Hong Kong, Beijing, London, Dubai, and New York City’s critically acclaimed Hutong, announced the launch of their late-night bar and lounge The Shanghai.
Hosted by Candace Bushnell of Sex and the City fame, the invite-only event was attended by celebrities and bold-faced names such as Real Housewives of NY, Ramona Singer, and Tom D’Agostino, Reality Star Julia Haart, Fashion Designer Nicole Miller, Billionaire John Paulson, socialite Patty Davis-Raynes and artist and model Ivy Getty, along with Danny Baker Jr. and Petra Khashoggi.
The Shanghai, which opened will feature Hutong’s full menu for lunch, brunch, dinner, and Late Nights at The Shanghai from Thursday-Saturday until 2 AM. The Shanghai, a glamorously gilded space inspired by the glamor of Art Deco New York and Shanghai, opens as the go-to destination for cocktails and late-night entertainment. Located just steps from NYC’s most prestigious shopping on 5th avenue will transport guests into another world when you walk down The Shanghai’s towering Champagne Runway.
The Shanghai’s intriguing cocktail list incorporates Chinese spices and herbs, fire, and an air of exploration. The list features complex and elevated libations, such as the signature cocktail, Comfortably Numb mixed with vanilla vodka, lychee liqueur, Sichuan pepper honey, and ruby red grapefruit.
Candace Bushnell’s celebrated her 64th birthday celebration and Shangai opening with A-listers, a Dim sum platter, lobster squid-ink dumplings, pickled chili cod dumplings, rosé champagne, shrimp dumplings, vegetarian spinach dumplings, truffle shiitake, and wild mushroom bao, Seared scallop spicy soba noodles, The Flaming Duck, ma la beef tenderloin, wok-fried cod filet, chef fried rice, kai Ian was served at the Michelin Star Chinese restaurant.
The celebration went late into the night with her birthday cake being served after at the opening of their new late-night lounge The Shanghai.
