Miami came together on to celebrate a day of shopping and giving back as the sprawling Brickell City Centre hosted the highly-anticipated Shopping Olympics to benefit Special Olympics Florida — Miami-Dade County. For the special affair, several of the mall’s coveted boutiques offered deep discounts on fashion, jewelry, accessories, products and services to ticket holders of the Special Olympics.
Haute Living was a proud media sponsor of the event, alongside Miami’s fashionable influencers, stylist Elysze Held, philanthropist Angela Birdman, Andrea Minski, Angeles Almuna, Ana Quincoces, Alexandra Hamdan, Tomi Rose, Kim Caceres, Romina Nabhen, Eda Schottenstein, Tanya Savysky and more, who all took part in the philanthropic shopping spree.
Attendees got to shop the luxurious boutiques as they enjoyed live music and activations throughout the mall, including a beauty lounge serving Whispering Angel Rosé, fashion lounge serving Fifty Pounds Gin martinis and premium bars serving Tito’s Vodka, Botran Rum, Liquor Strega Singha Beer and Tu-be Global Spirts, as well as delicious bites to eat. Automobiles courtesy of Warren Henry were displayed throughout the property for guests to admire. Those with the VIP gold tickets even got to enjoy an exclusive fashion show put on by mega-retailer Saks Fifth Avenue inside their beautiful, three-level store.
The day was a huge success, bringing in $32K in revenue to benefit the non-profit, Florida-based chapter of the Special Olympics. One hundred percent of the ticket sales went to benefit the charity.
Special Olympics Florida serves as the state’s largest volunteer-driven organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition, health services, leadership development and more, to kids and adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
The proceeds generated at the event will be utilized to continue serving the chapter, as well as prepare them for the upcoming 2018 USA Games in Seattle for the Special Olympics, where the athletes will get to take their talents to an even larger pool of competition.
