Poker Faces: Celebrities Ante Up for Africa During the World Series of Poker

Dozens of A-listers like were spotted at the Rio, July 2, for the Ante Up for Africa Celebrity Poker Tournament. Throughout the day, celebs retreated to McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon’s plush VIP green room to enjoy tasty fare and signature beverages from the Irish bar and restaurant. Among the luminaries were Matt Damon, Brad Garrett, Evander Holyfield, Shannon Elizabeth, Montel Williams, David Allen Grier and many more. Inside McFadden’s green room, celebs enjoyed buffalo chicken and chicken Caesar wraps, sliders and fresh fruit.

Since 2007, the annual Ante Up for Africa tournament has raised nearly $2.5 million to build awareness for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan and support those who are victimized by it. Everyone who participates pays a $5,000 entry fee and is encouraged to donate a portion of any winnings for the immediate benefit of ENOUGH and the International Rescue Committee. The event was co-hosted by Annie Duke, famous for her poker skill as well as her feud with famous comedian Joan Rivers during Celebrity Apprentice.
