MakiMaki, the newest hotspot for affordable sushi, is now open in Midtown!
The traditional made-to-order sushi rolls created and cut in front of the customer, along with teas from an 800-year old Japanese company not available in the U.S. This fast casual sushi joint is the brain-child of Kevin Takarada, a Japanese American with a love of sushi and a family background in hospitality.
Sushi highlights include Spicy Tuna, Avocado and Negi-Hamachi to Shrimp Tempura, Snow Crab and Spicy Lobster. Some are also available as handrolls, which come encased in uniquely packaged crispy seaweed designed to keep the nori crisp until ready to eat, which makes the handrolls very portable. Cut rolls start at $6 and handrolls at $4.
