Joseph Miller is the co-founder of Runyon, a full service real estate company focused on fashion, food, design, and creative companies that is involved with over $1,000,000,000 of real estate projects; working with some of the most prestigious real estate organizations in the country, including Caruso Affiliated, Tishman Speyer, Atlas Capital, and Canyon Capital—including LA’s hot and much-buzzed about destination, Platform. Platform is a collection of amazing merchants, chefs and creative companies from around the world—housed in Culver City’s Hayden Tract—all of whom is either first to its market or creating a unique concept (think Aesop, Blue Bottle Coffee, Floral Art, Freda Salvador as well as restaurants such as Loqui and Cannibal). Prior to co-founding Runyon with business partner David Fishbein, Miller was a member of the acquisitions and development team at The KOR Group, a privately held real estate development firm in Los Angeles. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two young children. He is the past Chairman of the Board of New Los Angeles Charter School and currently serves on the board of the Miller Program at the American Jewish University. Here, Miller offers a peek at his desk and where he comes up with his multi-million dollar developmental ideas.
- Samples from the new Tom Dixon store we are building at PLATFORM. It is the award winning British designer’s first US store.
- My Arbor skateboard. I know I am a little to old to be skateboarding, but it is great for getting around the Hayden Tract, where my office is.
- Blue Bottle’s Craft of Coffee. My wife and I make espresso every morning. Even my thee year old gets in on the action with his “coffee” (chocolate milk)
- A full Swell water bottle to keep hydrated all day.
