Billionaires to Hit the Beach on Longines Global Champions Tour
Everyone know that billionaires alight on Miami Beach for Art Basel, but did you know there is another event that draws them in too? The Longines Global Champions Tour brought in big last names like Bloomberg, Springsteen, Jobs, Gates and even Onassis. It’s expected to draw the same elite crowd as last year from April 7-9.
The Hunter-Jumper equestrian event is set up right on Collins Park’s sandy beach behind the W South Beach and the Setai. The complex village set up includes VIP areas to dine and watch the competition as well as stands where anyone can watch for free.
This year, there will be a bigger area to watch the action, allowing more visitors to watch the warm-ups and jumping up close. Additionally, there will be Prestige Village, an area that serves as an upscale bazaar for equestrian-inspried gear.
Miami Beach’s competition is notable because it is the first stop on the tour, opening an exhaustive tour of the world’s most spectacular cities, including a first time in Mexico City, the second stop. After that Antwerp, Shanghai, Hamburg, Madrid, Chanitlly, Cannes, Monaco, Paris, Cascais, Valkenswaard, Rome, Vienna and finally Doha. For more information on other stops click here.
Last year’s winner was British rider Scott Brash on Hello Sanctos, who good home the gold.
