1 Hotel and Homes South Beach Launches The 2016 Winter Music Conference
The SiriusXM Music Lounge was all the rage at 1 Hotel for the 2016 Winter Music Conference. If you thought the overload of tourists and international music fanatics were going to leave South Beach after Miami Music Week- think again. ULTRA might be over, but the music rarely stops playing in the city of Miami Beach.
At the new 1 Hotel South Beach, the buzzword was underestimated. The eco-friendly hotel, or as designer Will Meyer calls it “a breezy yet refined oasis made of natural materials” was announced as the temporary home of the Music Lounge for this year’s festivities. For the 10th anniversary, SiriusXM partnered with 808 Audio, one of the fastest growing and top performing audio brands. VIP Guests at the SiriusXM Music Lounge had the chance to experience the new line of exclusive 808 headphones and speakers that kept the music going long after the Ultra Music Festival ended.
Patrons were also seen having a blast on 808’s custom foosball table.
Wednesday kicked off with SiriusXM’s first-ever deep and tropical house music showcase, featuring resident DJs from SiriusXM Chill channel’s new mix series “House of Chill” Australian DJ Thomas Jack and our Haute March cover superstar KYGO, who co-hosted and made and a guest appearance right in time for the sunset.
Other notable performances included Chris Malinchak, Lost Frequencies, Autograf, Nora En Pure, Claptone, Robin Schulz, and Felix Jaehn.
On Thursday, EDM legend Armin van Buuren had the crowd feeling the trance vibes all day long. Friends Martin Garrix, Adventure Club, Andrew Rayel, Yellow Claw, Cedric Gervais, Above & Beyond, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike also made appearances and even performed off the record.
On Friday, Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz merged with a dual performance. The dynamic duo gave the WMC’s attendees everything they needed to dance the afternoon away. Due to the Miami heat, a rarely seen, mask less Deadmau5 was hardly recognizable without his signature accessory. On the contrary, Afrojack himself was a sight to see, his attire consisted of bright pink camouflage dropped crotch trouser. Other performances included Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Cash Cash, Blasterjaxx, DVBBS, Laidback Luke, and Hardwell.
