Haute 100 NYC: Calvin Klein Jeans Unveil Black Series Limited Edition Capsule Collection
American fashion house Calvin Klein has debuted Calvin Klein Jeans Black Series Limited Edition, an exclusive capsule of premium, urban streetwear grounded in the brand’s iconic logo.
The global campaign features the male model of the moment Lucky Blue Smith as well as his older sister Pyper America Smith. Lucky Blue, who is only 16-years-old, is six-foot-two and is known for his signature blue eyes and beach blonde hair. Pyper America, who is 18-years-old, is five-foot-ten and just as swoon-worthy as her younger brother.
The campaign was shot by photographer Rory Payne in Brooklyn, New York and was produced under the creative direction of Calvin Klein, Inc.’s in-house ad agency and creative studio.
The haute new series was designed by Calvin Klein Jeans’ Global Creative Director, Kevin Carrigan. The capsule consists of bomber jackets, tees, sweatshirts and jogger sweatpants for both men and women, all rendered in a technological, tone-on-tone black neoprene. The offering is anchored by the brand’s heritage “cK” logo design, which is updated using a new heat-sealed technology, according to the brand’s press release.
The line is currently available in the U.S. on calvinklein.com.
Just last month, the brand announced its plans to reacquire the existing license agreement held by CK21 Holdings Pte. Ltd. for all production and sale of Calvin Klein platinum label men’s and women’s accessories. This agreement includes sale in free-standing Calvin Klein platinum accessories stores in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
“We are excited about the long term opportunity presented by taking back this business, as it allows us to better optimize the synergies of the Calvin Klein platinum label accessories business together with our broader accessories business, under the creative direction of Ulrich Grimm, Global Creative Director of Shoes and Accessories for Calvin Klein,” said Steve Shiffman, Chief Executive Officer of Calvin Klein, Inc. “The development also aligns with our strategy to further enhance the Calvin Klein brand in the region by leveraging our Calvin Klein Asia Pacific infrastructure. CK21 continues to be a strong partner for us with Calvin Klein platinum apparel and we look forward to continuing our relationship.”
