MIA: Haute Tea Roars Into The ’20s For Diabetes Research Institute
The Young Society of Love and Hope will teleport guests back in time to the Roaring 20s for its 4th annual Haute Tea luncheon at the St. Regis Bal Harbour to raise proceeds for the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine on Friday, October 2nd at 11 a.m. A time of prosperity, cutting-edge fashion and never- ending parties, guests will experience what that time was all about with a champagne reception, three-course lunch, formal tea service, Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour hosted fall fashion show, live and silent auctions, and more surprises to come.
All guests are encouraged to channel their inner fashionista by donning 20s-inspired headwear such as elaborate headbands to cloche hats for Haute Tea’s annual hat contest hosted by event chairs, Jillian Posner and Dr. Stacy Chimento. The Style Bungalow’s Stephanie Hill will be alongside the other special hat contest judges to award the best headwear of the day, a long-standing tradition.
The event’s attendees will honor Miami philanthropist and the Executive Chairman of Love and Hope Committee, Sandra Levy, for her decades-long dedication to finding a cure for diabetes. The Young Society of Love and Hope is an organization consisting of youthful, yet successful South Florida philanthropic women who aim to develop an awareness for Type I diabetes and fundraise in hopes to discovering a cure.
All funds will be given to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Diabetes Research Institute. Prominently the top cure-based research facility in the world, the event’s proceeds will help further fund the DRI’s quest in advancing its development in a biological cure where the human body will restore natural insulin production and establish normal blood sugar levels.Currently, the DRI is working on developing a “mini organ” that mirrors the pancreas, the organ responsible for regulating the body’s insulin levels. The DRI has only one mission for existing: to cure diabetes.
