Russell Westbrook and the LA Kings Honored at the 2015 Sports Spectacular

This past Sunday, Sports Spectacular held its annual awards show featuring the elite of the sports world. The event, now in it’s 30th year, celebrated the anniversary with many high-profile athletes and celebrities in support of the organization’s efforts to create a healthier future for all.
The gala and auction benefited Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and is specifically dedicated to linking world-class athletes and innovative medical research to improve everyday lives.

This year’s event honored basketball player Russell Westbrook (NBA honoree), Larry Miller (Visionary Award Honoree), Tommy Caldwell & Kevin Jorgeson (Inspirational Honorees) and the Los Angeles Kings (Best Team honoree); former King Luc Robitaille accepted the award on the team’s behalf.

After an introduction ceremony and awards ceremony, guests included Joe Jonas, Hannibal Buress, Keenan Allen, Glen “Big Baby” Davis, Jordan Babineaux,, Jason Collins, Darren Collison, Daniel Cormier, Dominick Cruz, Baron Davis, Spencer Dinwiddie, Rudy Gay, Aaron Gordon, Ryan Kelly, Ty Lawson, Ricardo Lockette, Sal Masekela and Ray McCallum sat for a three-course dinner. Afterwards, the crowd moved to a private space at the Hyatt Plaza Century City for an afterparty that included tequila and dancing which lasted through the night.
Sports Spectacular raised funds for the Diabetes & Obesity Wellness and Research Center at Cedars-Sinai, which is focused on eradicating Diabetes & Obesity in the U.S. through research, prevention and education.
