4 Haute Spots for Mother’s Day Brunch in Boston
Every woman admittedly loves to be treated like a queen for a day, especially when it comes to an entire day devoted to her. This Mother’s Day, take the special woman in your life to a family Sunday brunch that she will cherish for a long time.
The views don’t get much better than from a table at Bistro du Midi overlooking the Boston Public Garden. This year’s brunch is being held on the second floor dining room where Executive Chef Robert Sisca has prepared a three-course prix fixe menu that includes starters like tuna tartare, Caesar salad, steamed mussels, pate and charcuterie and smoked white asparagus soup. From there, move onto parmesan gnocchi, citrus tea cured salmon Benedict, pan roasted codfish, a grass-fed black Angus burger, grilled flat iron steak, quiche or Croque Monsieur. The final dessert offering features a choice of Dulcey “blond” chocolate mousse, Gianduja chocolate beignets with lavender crème, vanilla mousseline or apricot clafoutis. The menu is available for $55 per person from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended by calling (617) 426-7878.

The weather is supposed to be beautiful all weekend long, including Sunday, so to celebrate, book a champagne brunch at The Taj Boston’s recently reopened Rooftop for an experience she won’t soon forget. Here, she can nosh on traditional breakfast items like omelets and Belgian waffles before moving onto a roasted vegetable salad, spring pastas and a prime rib carving station. The Taj brunch also includes an assortment of Asian dishes (think sushi and Soba noodle salad) as well as Indian specialties like butter chicken and corn mutter KaPulao served with traditional naan bread. Finish it all off with a sampling from the dessert buffet while enjoying a beautiful view of Back Bay from high in the sky. A second brunch buffet will also be held in the Grand Ballroom and an a la carte menu is available in the Café. Both brunches are available for $80 per person ($90 per person with a champagne toast) and $37 per child. There are four seatings held at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (617) 598-5255.
