5 Reasons to Escape to La Quinta Resort & Club Now
If the recent rain made you start searching for a desert oasis to escape the next downpour, you weren’t alone. Now is a terrific time to return to the legendary La Quinta Resort & Club. The sprawling property, located just outside of Palm Springs, recently unveiled a haute new look following a multi-million dollar facelift that would make any San Francisco socialite proud to sport.
With the rugged Santa Rosa Mountains set as the ideal backdrop and a storied Hollywood past giving it historical appeal, the iconic 1926 landmark now rocks a fresh, contemporary look. Don’t worry though, the resort built by Walter Morgan, the son of a wealthy San Francisco businessman, still retains the old-school glamour and architectural elements that have made it a delightful getaway for years. Here are just five of the things we love most about La Quinta Resort & Club.
Accommodations
Although the hotel boasts 41 pools, privacy seekers will worship their own. At La Quinta Resort & Club, it’s not just the coveted El Presidente suite that has its own pool. In all, five of the custom-designed suites showcase a private pool and spa and feature new landscaping, updated patio furniture and renovated decks.
Starlight Casita patios, popular for their stunning mountain views, now have romantic new fire features as well as plush couches and tables for alfresco entertaining. Inside, you’ll find new amenities, including 42- to 47-inch flat-screen high-definition televisions, mini refrigerators, Keurig coffee makers, charging stations with dual USB ports, upgraded fireplaces and photography inspired by the storied history of the resort and its surroundings.
Golf
A golfer’s dream and known as the Western Home of Golf in America, La Quinta Resort & PGA West is where Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman and Arnold Palmer collaborated to design six challenging and unique tracks with spectacular routing and arresting vistas of the Santa Rosa Mountains. If you don’t sport the skills of The Shark or The Golden Bear, just relax, all courses feature multiple tee boxes to accommodate players of all skill levels.
Spa
Both men and women will certainly appreciate the whopping yet incredibly peaceful 23,000-square-foot Spa La Quinta. After a long day on the golf course, men can take part in services designed to energize the hands and feet. Services for gentlemen include the Jet-Setter manicure and pedicure, Desert Oasis massage and a Hydrafacial treatment.
Women, there’s a new signature treatment called the La Quinta Signature Citrus Smash just waiting for you. After a custom blended scrub, relax with a serene rain shower followed by a soothing full body massage.
Dining
Enjoy a palate-pleasing meal at Morgan’s in the Desert, under the direction of Jimmy Schmidt, the only three-time James Beard award-winning chef in the world. His menu features bold, straight-forward dishes, highlighting the finest local ingredients, grown and raised responsibly. If you’re lucky, startender” Brian TK will be on duty. Ask him to whip you up a Garbo Gimlet.
Pet-friendly
There’s no reason to leave Fido behind when traveling to La Quinta Resort & Club. The 796-room resort not only welcomes four-legged but provides a comfy bed, stainless steel bowls, placemat and dog-in-room door hanger. For the ultimutt in pet pampering, book a 50-minute Me & My Best Buddy massage, a side-by-side massage for people and their pets that makes for a delightful bonding experience. Now that’s haute!
