Cooling Off at Hot Hotels: W Downtown Atlanta

As much as we love our southern city, summers here can be rather unpleasant. The heat and humidity make a walk outdoors almost unbearable. Escape to the lush oasis at the W Atlanta Downtown hotel this summer for a much-needed break from the muggy sun and crowded streets that make us all a little edgy in the season of sweltering heat. The hotel’s pool and poolside bar, WET and WET bar, are the perfect spot to cool down and show off the new tightened tummy’s that you have been working so hard to get.

Located on the 16^th floor of the W, WET is an urban oasis offering the most stunning poolside views of the Atlanta skyline. The only thing that will keep you from floating off the infinity-edge and into the downtown streets are the open-air glass walls. And when you can’t take the heat any more, sit back and relax at the partially covered WET bar where signature cocktails are served poolside with the snap of a finger.

And in honor of Memorial Day weekend, the pool is opening with a splash. Saturday kicks off the exclusive femme fatale summer series at WET. Spend the afternoon lounging at WET while enjoying great beats from resident Atlanta DJ Rachel Pryor, along with exclusive weekly guests including Vicki Powell, Anne Tyler, and Camille.

Don’t worry if you can’t make the party this weekend. There is always next Saturday. The event, which is sponsored by Veuve Cliquot and Belvedere Vodka, will continue throughout the summer. But make sure to get there early because the prime spots in the sun fill up quickly. There is no cover charge to get in on the fun but guests, residents, and of course the ladies get priority. The bar opens at noon and serves up cocktails until midnight. The DJ talent is on hand from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then again from 8 p.m. until midnight.
