When things are bad, sophisticated mases still need to eat, and often they turn to comforting classics. As such, New York’s A Voce restaurant, located right off of Madison Square Park, is getting a twin sister this spring. The second establishment, designed by the legendary David Rockwell, will find its home within the Time Warner Center. Conceived by MARC, A Voce’s design reflects a natural, modern urban aesthetic with American walnut floors, leather-topped tables, and a mix of modern accents evoking Italy’s industrial history.
The restaurant is well regarded for its contemporary and sophisticated take on rustic Italian favorites, and an award winning wine program features close to 700 wines from France, Italy, and the U.S. A Voce’s menu is inspired by the spirit of seasonal simplicity in Italian cooking, but the dishes are hardly strict renditions of traditional classics.
Freshly named Executive Chef Missy Robbins will continue this tradition in the the kitchen at the new location. A graduate of one of the nation’s premier culinary career training center (The Institute of Culinary Education), she is extraordinarily talented and brings a great deal of innovative ideas and integrity to the kitchen.
