Haute Event: COCHON 555 Chef’s Course Dinner
I just found out that there are still a few tickets to the one of the hottest dinner tickets of the weekend. On Friday, April 11, Sepia will welcome Chicago’s top chefs into its Michelin-starred kitchen for the second annual COCHON 555 “Chef’s Course Dinner.” The festive, fowl-themed feast kicking off the whole-hog weekend will take place from 6-10 p.m. at Private Dining by Sepia (135 N. Jefferson), with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the James Beard Foundation.
Recently nominated for his third James Beard Award, Chef Andrew Zimmerman will partner with past COCHON 555 participants including Cosmo Goss of The Publican; Rob Levitt of The Butcher & Larder; Charlie McKenna of Lillie’s Q; Chris Pandel of The Bristol and Balena; and Jason Vincent of Nightwood; in addition to COCHON 555 founder, Brady Lowe, for a one-night-only epicurean extravaganza featuring different birds and Hudson Valley foie gras.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres designed by each chef along with an impressive offering from PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA, all paired with a welcome cocktail featuring Breckenridge Distillery bourbon handcrafted by Sepia Head Bartender Griffin Elliott. The cocktail reception is followed by a sit-down, seven-course dinner at 7 p.m., with Goose Island Beer Co. beer and Breckenridge Distillery bourbon pairings that help showcase the high-quality produce and ingredients available from the Midwest’s finest farmers and purveyors. The evening ends with a Breckenridge nightcap and a sweet treat prepared by Sepia Pastry Chef Cindy Shuman.
Tickets for the seven-course dinner are $135 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity. Dinner reservations are required and can be made by calling 312.441.1920.
