Rob Thomas performed to a packed house at The Pearl at the Palms on Friday night. He told the audience that the tour was “just me getting’ out of my house,” while launching into solo songs such as “This Is How a Heart Breaks,” “Sunday Morning New York Blue” and “Lonely No More.”  Thomas joked with the audience that this was a “shared experience” and that he was working on new stuff, but since it was only the 2nd show, “this is what you get.” The audience was not disappointed as the Matchbox Twenty front man worked into an amazing set that included MB20 hits “3AM,” “Unwell” and “Bent.” Thomas even performed his Grammy winning hit (Record of the Year) “Smooth,” which was originally a collaboration that appeared on Las Vegas headliner Carlos Santana’s 1999 album Supernatural.
