28th Annual Frederick Law Olmstead Luncheon

The Central Park Conservancy’s Women’s Committee hosted their annual luncheon in the six acre Conservatory Garden, where guests arrived in beautiful hats ranging from elaborate to elegant. Nicknamed “The Hat Luncheon,” this event began 28 years ago when 75 concerned women gathered to help refresh a neglected Central Park, now the celebration has become a marquee event in New York.

Honorees at this year’s event included Betsy Messerschmitt, former president of the Women’s Committee, she received The Frederick Olmsted Award, Patsy and Jeff Tarr also received the award for their long-time support of the organization. The celebration was also able to raise an incredible $2.4 million for their initiatives.

Several celebrities and key names were in attendance such as Sigourney Weaver, Martha Stewart, Michelle Paige Paterson, Silda Wall Spitzer, Hilary Geary Ross, Deputy Mayor Patti Harris, among many others.
