Haute 100 LA Update: Angelina Jolie & Stella McCartney to Release Maleficent Kids Clothing Collection
Angelina Jolie is partnering up with Stella McCartney for a line of duds themed to her upcoming Disney release, Maleficent.
But sorry moms — as cool as the line is likely to be, it’s being created for boys and girls from the ages of four to 14 only.
The Maleficient-inspired collection of princess dresses, T-shirts, sneakers and sandals will be sold at Stella McCartney stores worldwide and online, as well as Disney stores and its website, starting May 30, the same day as the film’s release.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did,” the designer told Women’s Wear Daily. “When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance.”
Ten percent of profits from the collection’s sales will benefit of SOS Children’s Villages, which works to provide homes for children in need.
Jolie, of course, plays the title character in the film to Elle Fanning’s Princess Aurora; her own daughter, Vivienne, also appears in the film.
