News | April 23, 2010

Christie’s welcomed an exclusive list of guests to its first annual “Green Auction,” the evening intended to raise funds and visibility for four specific environmental groups: Central Park Conservancy, Conservation International, Natural Resource Defense Council, and Oceana. An array of celebrities arrived in support of the auction including Salma Hayek, Ted Danson, Sam Waterston, and Candice Bergen, along with New York socialites: David and Susan Cohn Rockefeller, Anne Grauso, Ghislaine Maxwell and Lizzie Tisch.

Iconic comedian and actor, Chevy Chase emceed the event as he urged fellow philanthropists to donate for these charitable causes. He himself donated $25,000 to Central Park Conservancy.

Following the exciting auction, guests enjoyed appetizers from caterer Rouge Tomate as they strolled over to Monkey Bar for the La Mer sponsored after-party. Staff was on hand with silver platters as they offered spoonfuls of Creme de la Mer to party-goers.
