Haute Event: NY Film Festival Closing Night Gala
The prestigious 51st annual New York Film Festival (NYFF) came to a close this weekend with one last celebrity filled bash featuring Spike Jonze’s new movie “Her.” The movie depicts a modern love story focused on the evolution of intimate relationships. The film itself is loaded with highly sought after top actors including Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara, Amy Adams and Olivia Wilde.
Jonze stated his sentiment for the NYFF as it was the first place he debuted a film back in 1999, “I’m very excited that it’s a premiere in the city.” He continued to say, “It feels so nice to come back to NYFF.”
Film society director, Rose Kuo raved about the festivals closing feature saying, “Jonze’s extraordinary new film, ‘Her,’ features Joaquin Phoenix who delivers an unforgettable, emotionally nuanced performance.”
Bringing this years film festival to a close, “Her” was the last of countless incredible movies that filled the 17-day festival at Lincoln Center, all of which raised the bar high for next years featured film makers.
