Haute 100 NY Update: Oscar de la Renta Creates Beauty Line for The Peninsula Hotel
High-end fashion designer Oscar de la Renta is partnering with The Peninsula Hotel to create a range of miniature beauty products. The Dominican native hopes to make his brand more of a household name, while the Peninsula Hotel feels the collaboration will increase the hotel’s reputation among guests who are fans of the designer.
“We’re trying to get our customers, the people who are logical shoppers for Oscar de la Renta clothes, who happen to be spending the night at the Peninsula Hotel to think about us when they march up or down the street of Fifth Avenue,” said Alex Bolen, CEO of Peninsula Hotels.
De la Renta worked with renowned bath and body company, Gilchrist and Soames to create the line of miniature beauty essentials, which includes two bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Prior to his collaboration with Peninsula Hotels, De la Renta launched a beauty essentials line at Tortuga Bay Resort in the Dominican Republic.
