Rainbow Room to Reopen in 2014
Get ready for more good times at the Rainbow Room! The iconic New York City nightclub where Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Tommy Dorsey and Guy Lombardo have all performed will reopen to the public in the fall of 2014.
The legendary space located atop Rockefeller Center closed in 2009 following a landlord-tenant dispute. Restaurant development company Blau & Associates is coming on board to oversee the reopening process.
The Rainbow Room opened as a supper club in 1934 after the repeal of Prohibition. Last October, city executives granted it landmark status by declaring that its Art Deco-style decor “came to epitomize New York City.”
