Haute 100 NY Update: Jerry Seinfeld To Broadcast Mets Game
It’s been years since famed comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, has entered the broadcast booth at Citi Field, but tonight he will join regular broadcasters Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Bobby Ojeda and Gary Cohen to bring some spice to a not so exciting season for the Mets.
“People want to hear what he has to say and his sense of humor comes out, so it’s our job just to step out of the way,” Hernandez revealed to the NY Daily News. Tonight marks the second time that Seinfeld will enter the broadcast booth, offering insight and analysis on the game against the San Francisco Giants live on Sportsnet New York.
Seinfeld’s appearance is a gift from his wife, Jessica Seinfeld, with collaborative help from SNY. “Those guys, and the incredible Bobby Ojeda, are the all-star team of baseball broadcasting,” Seinfeld explained. It only seems appropriate that Seinfeld offers his comedic relief after a summer of admiring the broadcast team from afar on Twitter.
