Haute 100 Miami Update: Donald Trump Brings BLT Prime to Trump National Doral Miami
One year after buying the resort out of bankruptcy for $150 million, Donald Trump is overseeing a complete overhaul of the resort, which also has a long new name “Trump National Doral Miami.” It also has new rooms, new club house, a new Blue Monster curtsey of course architect Gil Hanse, and now, new a new restaurant. BLT Prime is set to open in February 2014 and is owned by restaurant group ESquared Hospitality, the same group that owns BLT Steak at The Betsy. ESquared Hospitality will provide top service in line with the grand expectations of the all new resort. True to Trump fashion, The Donald said, “When completed, Doral will be the finest resort and golf club in the country.” With what promises to be top of the line everything, we don’t doubt it. While the resort is open during these heavy renovations, it is truly a construction scene perhaps best visited when they open the course for play in December, a good three months before the Cadillac Championship.
