SF Chefs is Just Two Days Away!

In just two short days, SF Chefs will make its way to San Francisco for its 5th spectacular year.

San Francisco’s premiere epicurean extravaganza runs from July 28 – August 4. One of the opening night events will be an all-star line up of San Francisco female chefs, sommeliers, and winemakers partaking in an eight course sit-down benefit dinner.

The festivities will begin on July 28th at Prospect restaurant. Some of San Francisco’s most talented chefs will be present including Nancy Oakes of Prospect; Dominique Crenn of Atelier Crenn; Loretta Keller of Coco500 and Seaglass; Gayle Pirie of Foreign Cinema; Maya Erickson of AQ and Melissa Chou of Aziza. The cost of the dinner is $450 a person and proceeds will benefit The Chronicle’s Season of Sharing Fund.

Union Square TentFrom Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 4th, Union Square turns into a culinary paradise. For three unforgettable days, the Bay Area’s culinary elite will come together to create four unique Grand Tastings.  The pavilion is designed to tantalize your pallet with various wonderfully creative culinary stations, inventive handcrafted cocktails prepared by top mixologists and exceptional wines and beers from world-class vendors, cooking demos, competitions, parties, and more!

SF Chefs Tasting TentThe city has already been a buzz with various lead-up activities, one of which included a spectacular launch party on the 36th Floor at San Francisco’s Grand Hyatt hotel. The buzz was quite palpable as guests were greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the city.  Invitees were greeted by signature cocktails and small bites from a select group of the city’s sensational establishments.

Savory nibbles were provided by Jasper’s Corner Tap & Kitchen, New Delhi Restaurant, OneUP Restaurant & Lounge (located in the Grand Hyatt), and Palio d’Asti. An assortment of mouthwatering pastries prepared by Cafe Madeleine’s chef Bernard Hong included variations on a theme such as a green tea tiramisu and other delectable berry and chocolate infused creations that had guests returning for seconds.  Varietals of fine wines were provided by SF Chefs Platinum Sponsor Washington State Wine. Libations from Anchor Brewing Company and delightful tasty concoctions specially created by Derby Cocktail Co. such as their Triple Crown SnowCone Program, where they served up a Harvey Wallbanger, Milano Mai Tai, and a Brown Derby in a traditional snow cone that offers a unique way to enjoy an exclusive adult beverage with the refreshing indulgence of youthful playfulness.

What a way to kick off the SF Chef Festivities…It’s just a small taste of what’s to come!
