Executive Chef Derek Simcik of Atwood Café (1 West Washington St) will be turning 30 years old soon and he wants to celebrate with all of you. He has combined his love of tattoos (he has 10 of them) and cooking into a fun birthday celebration. Chef Derek will be hosting a Get Ink’d Five Course Dinner on July 29th at 6:30PM. It will consist of a trip to a tattoo shop prior to the dinner (3:30PM) for those brave enough to get some ink on their skin (there will also be temporary tattoos being done). This will be a super fun and interesting outing, especially because you never really think of tattoos when you think of fine dining, yet here we are.
At the Get Ink’d dinner on July 29, guests will be introduced to an exclusive menu inspired by the art of tattoos – think vibrant colors, creative presentations, and undeniably, squid ink somewhere in the mix. Chef Derek has partnered with his favorite tattoo shop, Code of Conduct, whose artists will be tagging dinner guests with real and temporary tattoos, for a special discounted price at their South Loop
shop. Following their tattoos, guests will be escorted with complimentary transportation from Code of Conduct to Atwood Café, where they’ll “Get Ink’d” – again – but this time with a five-course dinner and cocktail pairing, prepared by Chef Derek. Tickets are $85 per person and include dinner, alcohol, taxes and gratuity. Real tattoos are $65 per person and custom temporary tattoos are $15 per person. Proceeds from the dinner will be donated to The Chicago Food Depository.
To make a reservation, please call: 312-368-1900 or visit OpenTable. The first five people to make a dinner reservation will receive a $100 gift certificate to Code of Conduct. I hope to see you all there!
