Ashton Kutcher’s Steve Jobs Biopic Gets New Release Date

Ashton Kutcher’s upcoming Steve Jobs biopic has a new release date of August 16. Previously slated for an April release, the film’s debut was pushed back to mid-August amongst reports that distributor Open Road Films “wanted more time to market the film.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Open Road Films originally planned to release the movie in April, which was the 37th anniversary month of the founding of Apple Computer.
Financed and produced by Mark Hulme’s Five Star Feature Films, Jobs chronicles the live of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs from 1971 to 2001. Ashton Kutcher plays Steve Jobs in the film, portraying one of the most important and successful figures in the 20th century.
Jobs made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern, the film also stars Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Lukas Haas, Matthew Modine and J.K. Simmons.
The new release date coincides with other films like The Butler, The Paperboy, Kick-Ass 2, and Paranoia.
